David Muench (1936), known for his American western landscapes. His photographs portrays the beauty of U.S in the early 30s. Limelight was shone on him slightly more as he is the son of Josef Muench which was also a landscape photographer. I think that the main thing about his photographs is how he make used of the natural lighting to create painting like landscapes. Many compared him to Ansel Adams stating that the difference that they have is David landscapes are done in colour, however coloured photographs don't last as long compared to black and white ones. Hence David scans his photo into digital form and for those that faded over time he would restore them. David stated “It is important not to have the images disappear faster than the landscape does.” I agree with that statement a lot as we never know when nature would be destroyed because of us and I guess one of the best ways would be to capture them and transfer it to be a digital file. Making use of how advanced technology is right now would be very much a advantage to us.
