Gladen Rowell (1940-2002), made use of his experiences and passion as a climber to take photographs. He called his images dynamic landscapes and requested them to be documented which became his best-selling book 'Mountain Light: In Search of the Dynamic Landscape'. Rowell spent last 20years of his life on 35 journeys to various countries. Initially he wished to capture and share with his family and friends his wilderness and height he conquered but after his first publish on National Geographic cover he was noticed. What was interesting is that he participated in the landscape, he wasn't just a mere observer. I personally feel that his photographs makes me feel that there are sentimental meaning behind and I felt motivated in a way that he didn't study photography at all yet was able to capture all of these. He makes me feel that with commitment, passion and handwork it is clearly possible to achieve photographs as such.
